Polyscias scutellaria (Ball Aralia) is an ornamental evergreen shrub commonly used for hedges and landscaping because of its dense, rounded foliage. It grows well in warm temperatures of about 20–32 °C and prefers partial to full sunlight for healthy growth. In tropical regions like Kerala, the warm and humid climate is suitable, but the plant requires well-drained soil and moderate watering, especially during the monsoon season.
