**Chrysanthemum**, scientifically known as Chrysanthemum, is a popular ornamental flowering plant grown for its bright and long-lasting blooms available in yellow, white, pink, red, and purple shades. In Kerala’s tropical climate, chrysanthemums grow best in temperatures between 18°C to 30°C and prefer a slightly cooler environment for profuse flowering. They require full sunlight (at least 5–6 hours daily) and well-drained, fertile soil rich in organic matter. Regular watering is necessary, but overwatering and waterlogging should be avoided to prevent root rot. In Kerala, flowering is usually prominent during the cooler months and post-monsoon season. Pinching and pruning help promote bushier growth and more blooms, making chrysanthemums ideal for pots, borders, terrace gardens, and decorative landscaping.
