About the Product
Custard apple (Athachakka) (Annona squamosa) is a small deciduous tropical fruit tree known for its sweet, creamy pulp and knobby green fruits. It grows best in warm climates with ideal temperatures between 25°C and 35°C and tolerates dry heat, but is sensitive to frost and prolonged cold below 10°C. In regions like Kerala, it performs well in warm, moderately dry to sub-humid areas with good sunlight and moderate rainfall. The tree prefers well-drained sandy or loamy soils and can withstand short dry spells once established.
