Chembarathivarikka jack is a popular Kerala variety of jackfruit known for its attractive reddish-orange, firm, and sweet edible bulbs. It belongs to the “varikka” type, meaning the flesh is crisp and less fibrous. This variety grows well in warm tropical climates like Kerala, requiring temperatures around 25–35°C, high humidity, and good sunlight. It thrives under annual rainfall of about 1000–2400 mm, typical of monsoon regions. Well-drained loamy or laterite soils further support its healthy growth and fruiting.
