Thottapuri mango (also called Bangalora) is a widely grown South Indian variety valued for its distinct beak-shaped tip and mildly sweet, slightly tangy pulp, commonly used for table purpose and processing. It grows well in warm tropical regions like Kerala, thriving in temperatures between 24°C and 34°C and tolerating heat up to around 38°C with proper irrigation. The variety prefers a humid tropical climate with annual rainfall of 800–2500 mm, along with a dry spell during flowering for better fruit set. Well-drained loamy or laterite soils, full sunlight, and moderate humidity support healthy growth and good yield.
