Jamaican star fruit, also called milk fruit, is a tropical tree fruit known for its star-shaped cross-section and sweet-sour juicy pulp. It grows well in warm regions like Kerala, thriving at temperatures between 24°C and 32°C, and can tolerate brief heat up to 38°C with proper care. The tree prefers a humid tropical climate with annual rainfall of 1000–2500 mm, well-drained loamy or sandy soils, and full sunlight. A dry spell during flowering improves fruit set, while moderate humidity supports healthy growth and high-quality fruits.
